This source gave me links to many documents from the Hellenistic period along with the dynasties that ruled during that time. I used this source for a primary resource on getting information on my subject.

This source gave me a table with the rulers of the Ptolemaic and Seleucid Empires with the countries that the rulers had under their control at the time. I used this source to compare the lands that certain rulers of the Ptolemaic and Seleucid Dynasty ruled at the times.

 

Cheshire, Keyne. Professor at Davidson College, who is a specialist in the Hellenistic     period. January 30, 2008.

 

This source has given me a direct contact with a person who has spent their life studying in the area of the Hellenistic period after Alexander the Greats Death. I used this source as a way to get another person’s opinion with someone who had studied this area. This professor also recommended a list of books.

This source gave me information on all the kings of the Ptolemaic Dynasty along with the last queen, Cleopatra. I used the source documents and articles written within the last century. I used this source as my source for Ptolemy.

This source gave me general information on how the Alexander the Great’s empire crumbled and how the decisions after his death were made in dividing the empire. I used this source for finding which generals I should research for my project.

This source gave me information on Alexander the Great and how he ruled his kingdom and also his construction of Alexandria. I used this source to find out what Alexander was like and if his abilities as a ruler were good or bad.

This source gave me information on Hellenistic culture and how this culture flourished in the empire after Alexander died. I used this information to research Hellenistic culture and to compare how the death of Alexander the Great affected his empire.

This source gave me information on Macedonia during Alexander’s rule, his father’s rule, how Macedonia was after Alexander died and a brief glimpse into the Ptolemaic Dynasty to have a look at the culture and lifestyles. I used this information to look into the Ptolemaic Dynasty and Macedonia for Alexander’s influence and for how the society functioned.
